It's been my experience that the best way to understand geopolitical events is to approach them the way a police detective investigates a crime. The first question to ask is, who has motive, means and opportunity, especially motive?
Chechens certainly do. They have been trying to fight off the Russians for more than 150 years, and their attitude would be, you kill our children, so we kill yours.
The timing, however, is what stands out in my mind. As George Bush runs for re-election, promising to keep American homes and families safe, the voters see a frightening reality on their TV screens -- a burning, battle-damaged school, and scores of dead children.
Has someone in the Islamic world decided they want Bush re-elected?
Ever since 9-11, Bush has been following the enemy's agenda, spreading war, destroying Washington's credibility abroad, and creating more enemies for America. Kerry is an unknown, he might continue these policies, or he might not.
If the objective is to make this a world war that lasts decades, Bush is on the right track, so why not do what is necessary to frighten US voters into re-electing him?
I am not saying I am sure this is what is happening, or that the Bush group had any connection with it, but again, who has motive, means and opportunity? -- those who want America to have a president who will continue widening the war.
