Often, seemingly unrelated events connect, pointing to an important new development. We're now watching an example, here's the story.

The August and September 2006 issues of Early Warning Report contained a two-part article about a coming Russian breakout, meaning a revival of the Russian empire.

The October EWR explains a "great convergence" of four problems which could trigger the largest military buildup in US history. Barring some miracle, this convergence will cause Lockheed (LMT, NYSE), Northrop Grumman (NOC, NYSE), Raytheon (RTN, NYSE) and General Dynamics (GD, NYSE) to skyrocket.

I would not be surprised to see the stocks of these firms rise ten-fold when the buildup is fully underway.

The coming crises discussed in those three issues of EWR look even more realistic, and threatening, when we consider that Russia's second-largest bank, Vneshtorbank, recently bought five percent of the stock of Europe's EADS.

Vneshtorbank is owned by the Kremlin.

EADS is Europe's largest arms maker.

EADS offers, among other things, air-refueling tankers. These are a prime example of "big iron" - a term explained in the October EWR.

Five percent of the stock does not give control, so why would the Kremlin buy it?

The only reason anyone would own five percent is in the expectation of good dividends and/or capital gains.

Put it all together. The Kremlin stands to earn tens of millions of dollars, maybe billions, from its own revival of the Cold War arms race. And, the bigger it makes the race, meaning the more damage it does to the US government's finances, the more money it will earn.

Clever. What could be more satisfying to a power seeker than to earn a nice profit from the impoverishment of an enemy?

Summarizing, the coming crises explained in the August, September and October EWRs appear to connect at the Kremlin's new investment.

Will the Kremlin buy pieces of other western military companies? Stay tuned.
