1. No need for panic. Unless you are in or near a government building or large commercial building, you will likely be perfectly safe. 2. I expect financial markets to be closed at least a week. Go to the grocery store and stock up on two weeks of the food you normally eat. Fill your car with gasoline, and get a month's worth of cash -- small bills and coins only. 3. I expect the White House and maybe Congress to declare war on someone. I don't know who. The key point to keep in mind is the old rule in the Mideast: when you hit someone, make it look like one of your enemies did it. It is almost a certainty we will never know who really did it and the U.S. will retaliate against the wrong people. 4. If you have been buying defense stocks and raw materials, including oil investments, you will probably see a lot of them pop up when the financial markets open. If they do jump, do not get greedy, take profits. Remember that the financial markets are not free markets, governments will be intervening, trying to reverse any trends they feel are bad, and we do not know where they will be successful and where they will be overwhelmed. 5. If you are religious, pray for those who have been hurt or killed, and their families. 6. Re-read page 1 of the latest EWR, and spread the word. You have my permission to copy page one and send it to anyone you think will listen. We must make the news media see that Washington brought this on. The answer is not to go to war, it is to stop meddling in other nations. 7. Stay calm. Make no big move until you talk it over with a friend who has good judgement.
